One of English music’s most enduring and talented singer-songwriters, musician and record producer, and founding member of London’s much-loved band Squeeze, Chris Difford is taking to the stage at Festival of Sound, 28-30 September at Novotel Conference Centre, Hammersmith, London.

A rare breed in the industry, Chris will perform a one-hour set on Friday 28 September at 2pm on the main stage in the Chablis Suite, joined by singer-songwriter Boo Hewerdine.  Chris will play a selection of songs from his 14-album career with Squeeze as well as songs from his own studio albums and collaborations with Boo.

Chris will also be performing some exclusive material on Saturday night (29 September) with country singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman and British soul pioneers KOKOMO.

Supporting the Festival of Sound for the whole weekend, Chris will be hosting one of his legendary song writing courses on Sunday 30 September for any visitor to Festival of Sound who wishes to participate.  As well as learning from the master himself, there will be an opportunity to perform live on stage in the main arena in front of a live Festival of Sound audience.

Fully immersed in the show, Chris will also be taking part in the Inside Track seminar series with a Q&A with Peter Thomas, owner and chief executive of PMC Loudspeakers, on Friday 29 September at 11am in the Fronsac suite, when they will, no doubt, be reminiscing about their share experiences at Live Aid.

Chris Difford says, “When the show producers contacted me about taking part in Festival of Sound and explained the ethos of the show in providing a rich musical experience to consumers, from live music right through the recording process to hearing music on the best quality audio equipment at home, I got the concept right away.  There’s nothing like this show anywhere in the UK and I’ve been really enthused by the organisers’ commitment and drive.  I’m really looking forward to taking part over the whole weekend.”

Vernon Hamblin, Festival of Sound producer adds, “I have huge admiration for Chris Difford as a singer-songwriter, musician and performer. He’s been totally behind what we’re doing here at Festival of Sound and I know his contribution will be eagerly awaited.  He’s a top bloke.”
